What Treatment Looks Like at Starlight Health

If you’ve made it this far, you’re probably wondering what allergy treatment actually looks like in practice.

Immunotherapy isn’t a quick fix. It’s a process that gradually retrains the immune system over time.

Most patients participate in treatment for about three years. During that time the immune system slowly becomes less reactive to the allergens that used to trigger symptoms.

At Starlight Health the program is designed to be structured, predictable, and easier to maintain than traditional allergy shot schedules.

The process happens in three main steps.

Treatment Steps

Step 1:
Diagnosis & Testing

The first step is identifying exactly what your immune system is reacting to.

Allergy testing allows us to measure your response to common environmental allergens such as pollen, dust, mold, and pet dander.

These results guide the entire treatment plan. Your immunotherapy serum is customized specifically for the allergens that affect you.

Many patients find this step helpful on its own because it finally answers the question they’ve often wondered for years.

“What exactly am I allergic to?”

Step 2:
Serum Prep & Mixing

Once your allergy testing results are complete, your treatment serum is prepared using carefully measured extracts of the allergens identified during testing.

This customized formulation allows the immune system to gradually become less sensitive to those triggers over time.

When the serum is ready, we schedule a training visit to teach you how to perform the injections safely and comfortably.

Most patients are surprised by how straightforward this step actually is.

Our goal is to make the process simple and manageable so that treatment can continue consistently.

Step 3:
Monthly Care & Support

Consistency is the key to successful immunotherapy.

During the early part of treatment patients gradually increase their dose through what is called the build-up phase.

At Starlight Health we monitor this process through short virtual check-ins with our clinical team several times each week.

Once the maintenance phase is reached, monitoring becomes less frequent and typically transitions to weekly check-ins unless a problem emerges or adjustments are needed.

These visits allow us to adjust dosing, answer questions, and make sure treatment continues safely.

The goal is to keep patients progressing steadily while maintaining close clinical oversight

Program Structure

Allergy immunotherapy is a long-term treatment program. Instead of billing individual visits the program is structured around three components: testing, serum preparation, and ongoing monitoring.

This structure keeps the process predictable and allows patients to understand exactly what to expect throughout treatment.

Immunotherapy works gradually over time as the immune system adapts.

Most patients participate in the program for approximately three years. Serum and Allergy testing is required annually and monitoring continues throughout treatment.

Patients often begin noticing improvement within the first year, with continued progress as treatment continues until maximum results by the end of the program.

Payment Plans Available

The serum preparation and allergy testing portions of the program can be financed through Cherry payment plans or Care Credit if patients prefer to spread the cost over time.

Many patients choose this option to make starting treatment easier

Is This the Right Treatment for You?

Not every patient with allergies needs immunotherapy, and part of our job is helping determine whether this treatment makes sense for your situation.

The best next step is a short consultation where we can review your symptoms, answer questions, and discuss whether allergy testing would be appropriate.
