What’s Included in Our Program
Weight loss is about more than a number on a scale.
For many people, it’s about having more energy, feeling more confident, sleeping better, reducing health risks, and getting back to doing the things they enjoy.
That’s why our program starts by understanding you — not just your weight. We’ll review your health history, discuss your goals, identify barriers that may be holding you back, and create a personalized plan designed around your life.
Depending on your needs, your plan may include nutrition guidance, lifestyle coaching, medical treatment options, ongoing monitoring, and regular follow-up visits to help you stay on track.
There are no crash diets, gimmicks, or one-size-fits-all solutions. Our goal is to help you build sustainable habits and achieve results that last.
Weight loss is not one-size-fits-all.
Progress can be influenced by more than food and exercise alone. We look at the medical, behavioral, and practical factors that may affect your ability to lose weight and maintain results.
Eating patterns, food access, preferences, and routines.
Movement, mobility, fitness level, and physical limitations.
Sleep quality, schedule, and conditions that affect rest.
Stress, emotional eating, environment, and daily routines.
Health conditions, family history, and medications that may affect weight.
Work, family, budget, time, and what is realistically sustainable.
Modern options, when appropriate.
For some patients, medical treatment can be a helpful part of a weight loss plan. During your consultation, we’ll review your health history, goals, previous experiences, and any medical factors that may affect your options.
Treatment is not right for everyone, and it is never the entire plan. We focus on a safe, realistic, and personalized approach that may include lifestyle support, clinical monitoring, and treatment options when appropriate.
Your plan may include:
Health history, goals, and risk factors
Options based on your individual needs
Follow-up, adjustments, and support

Questions about the Weight Loss Program
Here are answers to the questions patients most often ask before getting started.
How do I know whether I am a candidate?
We begin with a clinical review of your health history, goals, previous attempts, current medications, and potential risks. The consultation helps determine whether the program is appropriate and what type of support may fit your needs.
Do I have to use medication?
No. Medication is not required and is never the entire program. Your plan may focus on nutrition, activity, behavior, monitoring, or other lifestyle strategies. Medical treatment is considered only when clinically appropriate and aligned with your goals.
What medical treatment options are available?
Treatment options depend on your medical history, eligibility, risks, preferences, and current clinical guidance. We intentionally review options individually rather than promoting a specific medication or one-size-fits-all treatment.
Are laboratory tests required?
Some patients may need laboratory testing before or during treatment, while others may not. Any recommended testing and associated costs are reviewed with you before proceeding.
How much weight can I expect to lose?
Results vary significantly based on health, starting point, consistency, treatment approach, and individual response. We focus on safe progress, meaningful health improvements, and results that can be maintained rather than promising a specific number.
How often will I have follow-up visits?
Follow-up frequency depends on your plan and clinical needs. Early visits may be more frequent while we monitor progress and make adjustments, with the schedule changing as your plan becomes established.
Will my plan change over time?
Usually. Weight loss is dynamic, and your needs may change as you make progress. We monitor results, side effects, barriers, and sustainability so your plan can be adjusted when appropriate.
Do I need a Starlight membership?
Yes. Ongoing weight-management care is provided through a Starlight Health Concierge or Direct Primary Care membership so there is enough time and continuity for monitoring, follow-up, and adjustment.
Does insurance cover the program?
Program, membership, laboratory, treatment, and pharmacy costs can vary. Some outside services may be eligible for insurance coverage, but coverage is plan-specific and cannot be guaranteed. We review known costs with you before treatment begins.
What happens if the program is not a good fit?
The consultation is intended to answer that question before you commit. If the program is not appropriate, we will explain why and discuss other reasonable next steps or care settings when possible.
